DIY Prada spring summer 2010 shoes

Lately I have been working on a new DIY project - Prada Spring/Summer 2010 shoes.

In the beginning of this week I found a pair extremely ugly plastic transparent shoes from thrift store. Even the shopkeeper stared at me weirdly - "are you really going to wear.. these?". By the way it's impossible to wear them now, because they make really annoying sound like jingle bells when you're walking.
Luckily I had a bag full of chandelier crystals which I bought from a flea market last spring. That's how I turned the ugly shoes into tacky shoes.
I thought that tacky shoes need tacky pictures ! so I went bit crazy with photoshop.

DIY Givenchy headband tutorial

Do you remember that while ago I showed you a Givenchy inspired studded headband I made? Now you finally can see the tutorial. Actually I did this DIY project for the FOAM magazine - fashion and lifestyle magazine for women who surf and love the beach. Though I'm not sure how practical it is at the beach...
But it's definitely eye-catching and super easy to make yourself.

MoeP.A.R.K 2010

It's over! finally, the fashion contest I have been talking about all the time.
And everything went super great! - I got 2nd place with my  collection! (I hope you're not disappointed, because I'm very happy;) First place collection (by Victoria Tääker, Pille-Riin Nigols) was totally worth it. I also liked Kirke Talu collection from the younger category and many collections from the older category. I think the standard was pretty high, I mean no clothes from trash bags and stuff like that.

I had great models (some were taller, some were shorter:D) and we had loads of fun.
At the moment I can show you only some photos I made at backstage, later you'll see runway photos and video, details of jewelry, making of, behind the scenes, of course if you're interested(?);)
I made five outfits and those were inspired by desert landscape and army&military thing. I mainly used different fabrics, yarns and leather. The most important part was probably the bullet casings. I will tell you more about all that stuff when I'll make "making of" post.

Shorts with huge pockets and leather details, knitted top

Ear hook cuff with feathers

Pants with leather knees and mesh drapings, kinniting wiht leather shoulder pads and mesh sleeves, bullet belt

Shoulderpads with bullet casings, body zipper, pants with drapings and bullet casings

Draped knitted skirt, leather wristband and clutch with bullet casings

Dress with bullet casings on the sides, leather bra, silver jacket

N.O.L.G.O*

I didn't find anything cool from the flea market yesterday... probably because I spent most of my time at make-up stores finding perfect shade of lipstick to use on runway show. There's only 6 days until fashion contest final show! My collection is almost ready, just some little details to finish.
Here's my cozy Sunday's outfit.. not feeling very photogenic today. Found that jacket and shorts from a thrift store on Friday.

*NOT A LOT GOING ON

Triinu Pungits

Well... today took part of Estonian language olympiad,I did some sucessful thrift store shopping, took lame photos in stores changing rooms, had 2 hours of dance class, ate.. too much and last but not least went to see Triinu Pungits collection presentation. I had seen photos of that collection before but it was even more amazing in real life. Details, details, details. I also attended her show in last March. Check my post about that - here.It was same good as the show today only that venue was 100 times cooler then.
Anyway here are only couple of photos I took, if you want to get great overview and sharper photos - click here.

My absoulute favourite is this one - donkey head hood!

And tomorrow I'm going to vist least three flea markets and fashion fairs. I'll let you know if I got something super cool.

One day as a stylist

Couple of days ago the fashion editor at MOOD magazine Britt Samoson offered me great oppurtunity to have one day as a stylist. She probably wanted to prove me that stylist job isn't so cool as it looks. But I still truly enjoyed that day. Ok, there's definitely not-so-fun sides of that job, like carrying heavy shopping bags, writing down all the prices and brands, photographing every item one by one, returning all the clothes back to the shops. That wasn't that bad actually. I'm sure that editorial work is more interesting. Basically it looked like this: in the morning we went to stores, grabbed everything we liked and then run into next store. In the afternoon when we already had several big shopping bags full of clothes we went to the studio to let Laura Kallasvee photograph the clothes.
It was definitely one great day, exhausting but... worth it.
