ReUse Republic - bullet necklaces

Made some bullet necklaces for ReUse Republic I told you about in my last post. One thing I forgot to mention is that this bunch of jewelry will be sold only on February 3.-5. in Tallinn at the special event.
Anyway I found some beads which fit the bullet casings perfectyly and now they look kind of like real bullets.
ReUse Republicu disainiturg toimub Kristiine Keskuses 3.–4. veebruaril kell 14.00–20.00, laupäeval, 5. veebruaril, kell 12.00–18.00.

sneak peak

Here's a little sneak peak of the jewelry I'm making for ReUse Republic project this year. More on ReUse Republic and photos of my previous work - here. Anyway the point is that I was given a big box with broken jewelry and leftovers from different stores and I'm supposed to design something new using these materials. Here are few things I've made so far - some threader earrings and ear cuffs with arrowheads and triangles.
I tried to keep it as simple and clean as possible.

ReUse RePublicu üritus toimub 3.-5. veebruar Kristiine keskuses.

home spa

Okay, I have absolutely no idea why I'm doing some beauty stuff on my blog, but here we go.
Inspired by my last visit to Lush store I thought why I couldn't make all those natural beauty products by myself.
I decided to start with the easiest one - coffee body scrub.
Take some fresh coffee grounds, 2-3 spoonfuls will do. Add some olive oil and little bit honey and mix it all up. You can also add some salt or raw sugar and some essential oil for good aroma.
I know, it looks quite disgusting but believe me, it the most effective body scrub you've ever used. And probably the cheapest as well.

DIY Acne sweater

Finished that one while ago. It was actually quite easy to make. Didn't even use any patterns, though that's probably the reason it turned out too big but I'm still satisfied. Use two different (mohair) yarns to achieve the effect;)

behind the walls

Sorry I've been away for a while. I was quite busy working on a styling job for a photo shoot with Aleksandra Podburtnaja. Two days before the shoot the most terrible thing happened - I caught a cold. Not like 'fun, staying home from school, watching TV' sick but like very sick 'staying in bed all day long'. There was no way I could to the photo shoot in Tallinn. I was quite panicked out but in the end everything worked out. I sent the clothes to Tallinn and directed the shoot through mobile phone. It was quite humourous, I must say. Now I'm very excited to see the final result. At the moment I have four behind-the-scenes photos to show you. Did I mention that the shoot took place in a old, ice cold prison? At this point I'm glad I didn't have to be there...

DIY bracelet tutorial.

As many of you asked I decided to write a tutorial for making DIY plumbing supplies bracelets you saw in the last post. It's not the best but i hope can you understand;  ) It's actually quite easy to make them.

You need:
a leather belt with buckle, brass plumbing supplies (compression nuts, fittings etc.), scissors.

*Take a old leather belt which is narrow enough to go through the nuts.
*Mix and match some different compression nuts and brass fittings.
*Make a extra hole in the belt to fasten it around your hand.
*Cut away the longer part of belt or leave it and wrap around your hand like I did.

Samantha Pleet

We did another series of photos for Bona Drag with Tuuli. This time we got some very interesting stuff by New York designer Samantha Pleet. The fabric of these shorts and dress was made in the ancient Chinese tradition of burying china silk in mud for 2 months then hand dying it. click on links to see more pics

DIY plumbing supplies bracelets

I did a little DIY for the december issue of MOOD magazine which has already came out. My obsession over wearing many rings at once is definitely over, guess braceletes are my new love.
I got the idea when I was in Copenhagen for fashion week and saw Hanneli wearing similar bracelets by Danish designer Yvonne Koné. I thought they would make a good and cheap DIY project;)
You just need some brass fittings and compression nuts from the plumbing section and a old leather belt for making this one.
